Farm and Ranch Welding 2

A continuation of the fundamentals of equipment used in oxyacetylene and arc welding, including welding and cutting safety. This course will also cover the topics of simple blueprint reading. A project will be assigned in order to apply the knowledge of the welding symbols.

Supplies:

Personal Protective Equipment

• Clear safety glasses with side protection
• Leather gauntlet type gloves
• Cotton, denim/fire resistant type long sleeve shirt and pant
• Leather high top boot, no tennis type shoes
• Welding cap
• Welding hood that is comfortable and has at least a #10 shade filter plate
• Oxy-fuel cutting/welding goggles or face shield that is a #5 shade

Hand tools

• Chipping hammer
• Wire brush with a wood handle
• Channel lock pliers
• Adjustable crescent type wrench
• Tip cleaner
• Flint striker
• Mig Plyers
