Program Description
IntermediateCareer Development & IT
A continuation of the fundamentals of equipment used in oxyacetylene and arc welding, including welding and cutting safety. This course will also cover the topics of simple blueprint reading. A project will be assigned in order to apply the knowledge of the welding symbols.

Supplies:
Personal Protective Equipment
- Clear safety glasses with side protection
- Leather gauntlet type gloves
- Cotton, denim/fire resistant type long sleeve shirt and pant
- Leather high top boot, no tennis type shoes
- Welding cap
- Welding hood that is comfortable and has at least a #10 shade filter plate
- Oxy-fuel cutting/welding goggles or face shield that is a #5 shade
Hand tools
- Chipping hammer
- Wire brush with a wood handle
- Channel lock pliers
- Adjustable crescent type wrench
- Tip cleaner
- Flint striker
- Mig Plyers
