PMI awards certification by exam to accomplished medical office professionals in the competency areas of coding, reimbursement, compliance, and management. More than 40,000 people have earned one or more PMI certifications.
Requirements: Candidates for CMOM certification should have a minimum of one year of experience working in a medical practice. CMOM certification course registration includes a digital course manual (physical manual available upon request), workbook exercises, exam review, and a three-hour online proctored exam. A passing score of 70 percent or better is required to earn the CMOM certification.
Note: Candidates that hold additional certifications through Practice Management Institute can earn CEUs for completion of the CMOM course.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Earn 21 PMI CEUs for attendance at this program. Practice Management Institute grants CEUs for its certified professionals based on total number of instructional hours (1 CEU per hour of classroom instruction). CEUs may be applied to annual recertification requirements, as directed in the certification renewal requirements for your credential(s).
