Program Description
This comprehensive Forklift Operator Course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate forklifts in various industrial settings. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training to ensure a thorough understanding of forklift operations, safety protocols and maintenance practices.
Program Objectives
- Understand the different classes of forklifts and their applications
- Learn OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Master pre-shift inspections and maintenance checks
- Develop skills for safe loading, unloading, and stacking of materials
- Understand the triangle of stability
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace
Policy Statement for Grant-Funded Courses
To ensure responsible use of grant funds and equitable access to training opportunities, all students registered in grant-funded courses are required to attend all registered sessions. Students who fail to attend without prior notification (no-call/no-show) may be charged up to 100% of the course cost and will lose eligibility to participate in any future grant-funded courses. Students must notify TJC at least 24 hours in advance if they are unable to attend (continuingstudies@tjc.edu or 903-510-2900). Exceptions to this policy may be made for documented emergencies, which will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. By registering for a grant-funded course you agree to the terms and conditions within this policy.
