This course is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills needed for handling a homicide investigation. Participants will gain insight into the roles of both patrol officers and detectives at a crime scene, including the critical responsibilities of securing and protecting the scene, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and collecting forensic evidence.
The course will also cover the latest advances in forensic science, including DNA testing techniques, and emphasize effective collaboration with prosecutors and courtroom testimony.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to manage and process a homicide scene professionally and efficiently.
Training is intended for Peace Officers, Law Enforcement Officers, Detectives, Supervisors, and Patrol Officers. A TCOLE number is required for TCOLE credit.
