Dental Sealant Placement for Texas Dental Assistants

Program Description
This course is designed to fulfill the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) training requirements for Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs) who did not graduate from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited dental assisting program and are seeking authorization to place dental sealants as part of their allowable duties.
The 8-hour course includes both didactic and clinical components to provide comprehensive instruction in the theory, principles, and hands-on techniques of dental sealant placement. Upon successful completion, participants will be prepared to place dental sealants safely and effectively under the direct supervision of a Texas-licensed dentist, in accordance with current state regulations.
Prerequisite: Participants must hold a current Texas Dental Assistant Registration (RDA) and have minimum of two years of experience as a chairside dental assistant.
