Learning Watercolor Painting Workshop
Tyler Junior College Classes
Program Description
Learn how to paint in watercolor. Participants will be taught the basics of watercolor, focusing on wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry washes, mixing colors, and learning how to use brushstrokes and lines to create a variety of still-life and landscapes. Watercolorist Marsha Blount will demonstrate how to start and finish a painting using transparent layers to create a composition with line, space, shape, and balance. Painting will be in-class and if the weather allows, outside to do a few in plein-air. This is a class that can be built on the rest of your painting life! Each day will result in a finished piece worthy of displaying.
All materials are included. Participants may take a lunch break or bring a sack lunch.
*To register for the course, participants must be 16 years of age or older.
